People around me speak in metaphors all the time, and I constantly remind my mom not to do that, because there’s a huge possibility that I won’t understand any of it. And the other day, I heard one that sounded really weird to me.. it was a quote from a movie, it was like this: ‘are we going to talk about the elephant in the room?’. There was no elephant in the room, so wtf does this mean?

Elephant in the room, more frequently used as the pink elephant in the room refers to the awkwardness in that place.
